A few images from my recent trip to Kenya and a visit at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage in Nairobi. These guys adopt elephants that are left behind orphans, when their mothers are killed by poachers, or when chased or caught by farmer in the ever increasing conflict of converging space between humans and wildlife.
On that notion, check out this National Geographic article and gallery by Michael Nichols
Unlike Michael, I went there as a simple visitor, duly paying my 500/= KSH donation entrance, with a crowd of a good one hundred people.
